Heat Exchangers

Glass Heat Exchangers are generally available in two major categories:
Composed completely of glass, coil heat exchangers are typically used as vapor condensers and liquid coolers. They are usually designed and installed as an integral part of a vertical column. To provide a reliable corrosion resistant internal seal, the coil battery is sealed to the jacket, creating a single unit. Boilers and immersion heaters are also available in this all-glass coil design Methods of Use
Vapor inlet at Top :-
Coolant inside the coils. Condensate exits at the bottom at temperatures below its boiling point, depending on surface area of the condenser and flow rate of the coolant.
Vapor inlet at Bottom :-
Coolant inside the coils. Condensate falls against the rising vapor and exits at its boiling point.
Shell & Tube exchangers are used particularly where large heat transfer area is required in combination with efficient heat tranfers & compactness. These are widely used in industry for duties like cooling, heating, condensation, evaporation etc. They can be designed for single pass or multipass on tube side as per your requirment. The overall heat tranfer coefficient in shell & tube heat exchanger is about three times higher thenin coil type heat exchangers. Whenever requirment of heat tranfer area is high Shelll & Tube heat exchanger is only alternative. The pressure drop of coolant in Shell & Tube heat exchanger is minimal compared to aprrox. 2kg in coil type heat exchanger.
